Option One: Sculpture
SPRING PROJECT - CHOICE 1 - Sculpture! Yes 3D
Choosing sculpture means you are consider your art in a three dimensional space. You must consider how it will be viewed from every side and angle. There are many materials to choose from. Please view the following videos and make yourself informed before you decide on Sculpture. Like our Fall Project you must do the following Studies in a timely fashion to stay on task and within our Third Term deadlines. CREATE 3 SCUPTURES CREATE 3 pieces, no SMALLER THAN 5 INCHES HEIGHT that illustrate your understanding of the human form, landscapes (urban/vegetation), Still life, and/or animals. Your work will show your exploration, discovery and understanding of this form as translated by you using the design strategies and the space around it. |
Step One1. Decide which project you will choose - commit! STICK TO IT. NO CHANGING your MIND!
|
Step Two2. Project Mind Map/Brainstorming - In your sketchbook explore a question or theme around Animals, people or landscapes! Stick to a theme and/or question
|
Step Three3. Design your 3 (three) sculptures from at least 3 perspectives - eg. front, back and side. DUE
MOST IMPORTANT! MAKE SURE YOU USE DESIGN STRATEGIES AND CONSIDER THE COMPOSITION! Yes even in sculpture, eg. if you are making a building then perhaps it has trees or other interesting objects beside it! |
Step Four4. Medium Study - VERY IMPORTANT! FIND OUT HOW TO USE THIS MEDIUM AND TRY IT WITH SOME OF YOUR DESIGNS.
I will be having a workshop to show how use the tools properly and explain all the wonderful recycled objects/found objects you can incorporate. AFTER SPRING BREAK. |
